Imagine that you have completed your project. You exceeded the project budget, but you were able to complete the project. However, you were over budget by 20% in terms of costs and completion date. Now, management has requested a review of your project.

Write an 6 page paper in which you:

-Identify and analyze the process you would use to close out your project and Determine the main challenges that you would encounter during the project closeout process and provide your strategy to address the challenges in question.

TIP: The challenges must be related to the specific close out process. So if collecting and documenting “Lessons Learned” was part of your close out- what challenges might you face and how would you deal with it.


 “Collecting and documenting lessons learned may be challenging for two reasons: Project team members may have already been assigned to another project and may not have the time to submit lessons learned in timely manner. To overcome or minimize this challenge I would make every effort to request lesson learned before they are assigned to another project. Additionally, some project members be on vacation at the end of the project. Needless to say, in both these challenges I would remind the project members to record and submit lesson learned as they occur rather than waiting for till the end of project. Recording lesson learned as they occur would also provide accurate historical information as the lessons learned are being recording as they occur.”

Talk about  another computer-based tool, other than MS Project and MS Office (e.g. do not use Project, Word, Excel), that you could use in order to manage project costs and scheduling. Speculate on the overall different project management strategy that you would   apply based on the tool that you have selected.

-Analyze whether continuous process improvements would have helped the delivery of your project. Provide a rationale to support your response.

-Speculate on whether using risk management techniques would have affected the delivery of your project. Support your response with at least two (2) examples of using risk management techniques that would have helped you deliver your project on or under budget.
