Influencing Employee Attitudes, Values, and Behaviors [WLOs: 1, 2] [CLOs: 2, 3, 4, 5]

Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, please read Chapters 11 and 12 of your Kinicki and Williams (2018) textbook, and the article by Herzberg (2003), “One More time: How Do You Motivate Employees? (Links to an external site.)

In an initial post of at least 300 words, and citing at least two required scholarly sources, analyze the informal components of organizations that can affect employee engagement, and ultimately organizational performance, as described by Kinicki and Williams (2018). Differentiate the types of influence leaders and managers can have over these informal components of an organization, particularly employee attitudes, values, and behaviors. Discuss how the influence of leaders and managers can affect employee motivation and, subsequently, organizational performance. Provide an example of a leader or manager, from your experience or from your readings, who either positively or negatively influenced employee attitudes, values, or behaviors.
